- MOUNTAIN /ˈmaʊntɪn/ · noun
- A natural elevation of the earth's surface rising more or less abruptly to a summit, and attaining an altitude greater than that of a hill, usually over 300 meters (1,000 feet). Related: hill, peak, ridge, slope.
- GLACIER /ˈɡleɪsiər/ · noun
- A large, slowly moving river of ice formed from compacted snow on land, typically in high latitudes or at high elevations. A glacier can be several kilometers wide and hundreds of meters thick. Related: ice sheet, ice field, frost, ice cap.
- CANYON /ˈkænjən/ · noun
- A deep, narrow valley with steep sides, typically carved by a river cutting through rock over a long period of time. Related: gorge, ravine, gulch, defile.
