- BLADES /ˈbleɪdz/ · noun (plural); verb
- The plural of "blade": the flat cutting edge of a knife or tool, a flat broad part of a plant such as a leaf or grass, or an oar's flattened end. As a verb, it means to skate on ice. Related: edges, leaves, vanes, foils.
- BOOTS /buːts/ · noun
- Boots are sturdy footwear covering the foot and ankle, often extending up the leg. As a countable noun it is the plural of 'boot', and in dated British usage 'the boots' referred to a hotel or club servant who cleaned shoes. Related: footwear, shoes.
