- A diurnal bird of prey of the genus Falco (family Falconidae), having long pointed wings, a sharply hooked beak, and swift, agile flight; falcons are renowned for their speed and are traditionally trained for hunting. Related: hawk, raptor, kestrel, kite.
- ANKH /æŋk/ · noun
